Our review unit is that the 55-inch Q70T works on the bottom, however, Samsung offers models in 65, 75, 82, and 85 inches. All models have similar designs and features.

Among these models, the Samsung Q70T QLED is sort of identical, offering an equivalent range of ports, the same 4K resolution, 4K resolution, and HDR support on the same QLED display. In fact, they use a dual backlight and run a similar processor.

Therefore, we expect nearly identical performance on all sizes, as well as strengths and weaknesses similar to the 55-inch model used in this review.

Design

Samsung has designed a simple, yet elegant QLED TV, and the Q70T is no exception. The 48.4 x 9.6 x 30.9-inch unit doesn’t take up a lot of space on the TV stand and doesn’t look attractive when hung on the wall. There are thin bezels all around the QLED screen and the dark gray plastic enclosure looks great, not like the cheap delicate enclosures we see.

If you don’t prefer to hang your TV on the wall, the Q70T comes with boomerang-style legs that easily and securely clip to the bottom of the unit. If you need to support it, you can use a standard 400 x 400-millimeter VESA mount or Samsung’s Mini Wall Mount, a handy accessory when you need to measure how far apart your TV is from the wall.

Port options are excellent: four HDMI ports, one with eARC support and one that supports HDMI 2.1, which is available on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. In addition, it has an RF antenna input but does not support legacy technologies such as composite video. If you’re not wired, you can connect a soundbar via Optical Digital Audio and it also has Bluetooth for wirelessly connecting the headphones.

Performance

Our review unit, the Samsung Q70T QN55Q70TAFXZA delivers a sharp picture with overalls of vivid colors. You’ll be impressed by the crisp details when watching the moves — like when watching Avengers War on 4K Blu-ray, the light from Thor’s fingers is more noticeable than ever before. Likewise, in My Octopus Teacher, the giant breaking waves and underwater scenes come through in excellent detail.

The Q70T produces deep blacks and the contrast colors are simply impressive. All of this can be attributed to HDR10+ support (but not Dolby Vision), which helps it deliver vibrant colors. The Samsung QN55Q70TAFXZA maintains good color stability from a variety of angles, something the less premium Samsung Q60T can’t manage, though you’ll notice some negligible dimming at the edges.

For gamers, the Q70T handles action sequences extremely well; Just like the Battle of Wakanda in Infinity War, without pixel loss or blurring. During gameplay on the Xbox One S, the panel switches to Game Mode and handles the race at 200 MPH even in Forza Horizons, but the background isn’t as crisp. Similarly, while playing Call of Duty, the focus of the action was sharp but the background is not.

Smart Features

Like all other Samsung QLEDs, the QN55Q70TAFXZA runs on the same Tizen platform. It comes with a large number of apps – Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and Apple TV that come pre-installed. It’s simple to set up the TV via on-screen prompts, or you can download the SmartThings app to make everything easier. Either way, you’ll need to create a SmartThings account to use all of the available features.

Another area where the Q70T excels over its predecessor is its voice assistant options, allowing it to include Samsung’s Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant as options, whereas the older model only had Bixby.

The remote remains unchanged – Samsung’s standard wand-style remote, which is comfortable in the hand and provides easy access to the things you want to do most, like adjusting volume and going to the home screen. You also have a play/pause button, channel changer, microphone for the voice assistant, and shortcut to ambient mode.
